Multi-talent Chris Roberts’ first concert tour of 2021 gets underway in June when the Aspen, Colorado-based musician begins a six-state tour. Accompanied by trusted guitarist Eli Wulfmeier, shows kick off in Kentucky with the finale planned for Nashville. Fans, friends and concert goers will hear among others, tracks from Roberts’ debut EP Red Feather, released in Feb. 2021. Post-pandemic anticipation grows with artists like Chris Roberts.
Chris Roberts’ YouTube video “Remember That It’s Me (Live In Aspen)” captures some of the essence and style of what the musician is all about. Creating original music, Roberts’ blues-rock vocal delivery has presence and conviction. Remember, the video is taped live in a house, featuring the entire band while the performance is immaculate. These are musicians who love playing and singing. Thoughts of a scaled down Allman Brothers Band or Black Crowes come to mind, but then dissipate into the present via Roberts’ music.
Performance and selection of instruments during the video for “Remember It’s Me (Live In Aspen)” is foretelling and impressive. Roberts, strumming a plugged-in black acoustic six-string while singing, is surrounded by a complimentary rhythm battery, providing cadence and grit. Plus, check out the classic reverse body bass, two-tier keys and gold top electric used for slide, in addition to the pedal steel. All in all, the cut is a great 4:14 jam with vocals. Summer cannot be far behind.
About JB Strauss, on Amazon, clicking the song sample for “Carolina Siren” has the kind of flow that Little Feat’s Lowell George would probably approve of, where “Piss Ant Hill” leans more country. “Lady Cuscowilla” is another favorite from Strauss. Live and studio albums are available from Strauss.
