FFO: Glam rock; rock; pop rock
With keen enthusiasm of living up to the band’s name, Tremendous has both acoustic and electric rock appeal. Proof can be heard in the Birmingham, England-band’s latest track, “Like Dreamers Do (Unplugged).” Released Jan. 6, 2020 and available (see below) as a free download, Tremendous is working hard to get out the group’s message. The same “Like Dreamers Do” was previously offered with the band in full gear. This time, by comparison, a somewhat unadorned approach is used.
Though acoustic guitar driven music still has a place with countless recording artists, strummed six-strings really do not drive the sales charts like in years past. Nevertheless, “Like Dreamers Do (Unplugged)” aims for a candid style, while successfully reaching a place where a neatly strummed acoustic guitar is the foundation of something bigger the band successfully latches onto. Tremendous, a name based on a catchphrase from Cuban-American comedian Joey Diaz, carries a glam rock tag, but that description is slightly deceptive. The music is fully accessible with a call to those who enjoy their rock a bit more straightforward.
The 2:37 acoustic version of “Like Dreamers Do,” which will be on the band’s debut album Relentless, persists with engaging vocals and an effort that never quits. No wonder. Relentless and “Like Dreamers Do” is dedicated to former manager and friend, the late Adrian Millar, who worked with The Babys and Black Sabbath. Tremendous is giving away “Like Dreamers Do (Unplugged)” until the release of Relentless sometime in 2020. The precise date has not been announced.
