A Ritual Sea: ‘Because You Care About’

New Track anticipates forthcoming self-titled debut album

FFO: Dreamwave, Dreampop, Shoegaze, Synthwave

Permeated in ambiance and shimmering guitars, “Because You Care About,” from A Ritual Sea, evokes a certain balance about the reality of relationships. Self-recorded and produced, “Because You Care About,” released Jun. 25, 2021, through the French indie label Icy Cold Records, follows the single “Desire Lines.” Both songs are from the Dublin-based band’s upcoming Autumn collection.

Driven by two guitars, bass, drums, synth and vocals, A Ritual Sea’s “Because You Care About” is immersed in a distinctive yet fully accessible blend, exploring the changing feelings and mood of a loving relationship. According to A Ritual Sea singer Donna McCabe, “Because You Care About” expresses “that moment after a heated argument…trying to find a way to say sorry, longing to get back to that feeling of harmony.”

For a visual accompaniment to “Because You Care About,” A Ritual Sea has released a video filmed by Niko Bikialo and edited by Donna McCabe, featuring two prized canine friends named Chloe and Lilii.

Outside the studio, A Ritual Sea is a concert favorite with noted appearances at 2018’s Other Voices Festival and a sold-out 2020 show headlining at Whelan’s, in Dublin, Ireland.

A Ritual Sea is Florian Chombart – lead guitar, vocals; Donna McCabe – vocals, synth; Nina Ruminska – guitar; Donagh O’Brien – drums; and Finn McCarthy – bass.

“Because You Care About” is mixed by Paris musician and sound engineer Nicolas Subrechicot and mastered at Biduloscope mastering studio. Song written, composed and recorded by A Ritual Sea. All rights @ARitualSea.
